On May 16, 2023, Hon’ble MoC Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw launched Sanchar Saathi Portal (https://sancharsaathi.gov.in/), India’s first one-stop solution to address all your mobile-related safety and security concerns.

With advancement of Mobile Technology and its penetrations in our daily lives with ease of using services like online shopping, online banking, entertainment, health-care, e-learning, it is become very essential to secure, protect and safeguard users from potential threats, including identify theft, forged KYC, mobile device theft and banking and data copy frauds.
To address these concerns, Department of Telecommunications launched Sanchar Saathi Portal, a citizen centric initiative, to empower mobile subscribers, strengthen their security and increase awareness about citizen centric initiatives by the Government of India.

This initiative and the vision aligned with it has been receiving many appreciations and applauds from across the country and abroad and also aligns with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of Digital India.
Sanchar Saathi portal will allow every citizen to
- know all their mobile connections issued in his/her name,
- discontinue any of your owned connections,
- track OR block your lost mobile phones,
- check genuineness of devices while buying a new/old mobile phones.
Sanchar Saathi Portal is a framework launched with 3 main modules
a) CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register) Module
- It facilitates tracing of the lost/stolen mobile devices.
- It also facilitates blocking of lost/stolen devices in all of telecom operators networks
- If anyone tries to use the blocked mobile phone, its traceability is generated.
- If mobile phone is found it may be unblocked on the portal for its normal use by the citizens.
b) TAFCOP (Telecom Analytics for Fraud management and COnsumer Protection) Module
- It facilitates a mobile subscriber to check the number of mobile connections taken in his/her name.
- This will also help to report the mobile connections which are either not required or not taken by the subscriber.
c) Keep Yourself Aware
- It provides latest updates and awareness materials on different aspects related to end user security, telecom and information security.
